Mumbai: Godrej Industries Group has elevated Burjis Godrej as the chairperson of Godrej Agrovet as part of a broader leadership transition that will see his father and group chairman Nadir Godrej step down after decades at the helm. He will also join the board of Godrej Industries as a non-executive director.

Pirojsha Godrej, Adi Godrej's son, will take over as chairperson of the group and Godrej Industries from August 14.

"This moment is both a responsibility and a privilege," Pirojsha, 45, said, adding that the focus will be on scaling the group while retaining its values-led approach.

Burjis, 34, has stepped down as managing director of Astec LifeSciences as part of the rejig.

"I am excited to take on this role at Godrej Agrovet and to build on the strong foundation that has been established. Our focus will be on building a stronger, more resilient Godrej Agrovet, driving sustainable growth while sharpening execution across our businesses," he said.
