Britannia CEO Ranjeet Kohli steps down to pursue 'external opportunity'

Kohli is the second leadership level executive to quit Britannia in a span of three months. The company's chief marketing officer, Amit Doshi, had resigned in January and his last working day is March 17. Doshi is expected to join the initial public offering-bound PhonePe in a leadership role.
The maker of Nutrichoice and JimJam biscuits said Kohli resigned after leading the company as chief executive for two-and-a-half years. Kohli did not disclose the reason for his departure but mentioned in his resignation letter that he intends to "pursue an external opportunity".
Kohli reported to managing director Varun Berry.
Britannia said in the exchange filing that Kohli "shall be relieved from the services of the company with effect from close of business hours on March 14".
The Nusli Wadia-led company has yet to name his successor.
Kohli previously held leadership roles at Jubilant FoodWorks, which operates Domino's Pizza and Coca-Cola. He had joined Britannia in September 2022 and steered the company's focus on healthier foods such as millet and seeds-based biscuits.
Britannia had reported a 5% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to ₹582 crore for the quarter to December 2024, aided by volume gains and price hikes.
Revenue from operations increased 7.9% to ₹4,592.62 crore in the quarter.
