Bosses prefer teetotallers as employees

If you stay off those cocktails, chances are you’ll get more job offers coming your way.

NEW DELHI: If you stay off those cocktails, chances are youll get more job offers coming your way. More than 55% employers in the private sector prefer to recruit teetotallers says a survey by industry body Assocham. Reason: higher efficiency. The survey had 206 CEOs, out of the total 375 CEOs from medium and large-scale industries, poll in favour of recruiting those that observe total abstinence from alcoholic beverages at entry levels.

According to the survey, teetotallers, both men and women, are highly prolific, creative and fastidious in their work. Accordingly, most companies have taken a policy decision in their HR department to avoid recruiting young boys and girls who do not observe abstinence from alcoholic beverages, as they are found to be casual and lethargic.

The study also said that 45% employers do not make any distinction between teetotallers and non-teetotallers as far as entry level recruitment policy goes but they indirectly admit that those who prefer continental cuisines have higher patience and perseverance levels.

However, 32% of CEOs also said that it couldnt be scientifically justified that teetotallers are better and more competent than those who are not, the chamber said.
