Birla resigns from Tata Steel, Maruti

Steel major Tata Steel Ltd on Wednesday said Kumar Mangalam Birla has tendered his resignation as a director of the company.

MUMBAI: Steel major Tata Steel Ltd on Wednesday said Kumar Mangalam Birla has tendered his resignation as a director of the company.

Birla had earlier resigned as a non-executive independent director from the board of Maruti Udyog Ltd after a three year tenure in July.

Following the resignation of Birla, Maruti announced the appointment of D S Brar as non-executive independent director and Tsuneo Kobayashi as non-executive director.

Tata Steel today informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that Kumar Mangalam Birla tendered his resignation with effect from August 14.

Shares of the company were trading at Rs 537.70, up 1.17 per cent on the BSE.
