Bijender Singh becomes NAFED Chairman

Bijender Singh, a member of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, was on Monday elected as the Chairman of National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED).

NEW DELHI: Bijender Singh, a member of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, was today elected as the Chairman of National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED).

Singh was elected at the 20-member Board of Directors meet, which was attended by 18 members, a government official said. Singh, who represents Nangloi constituency in Delhi assembly, has been a Director on the NAFED Board since 1985, the official added.

The election was necessitated following the death of Ajit Singh in a road accident in Bihar in September this year.

C B Holkar, who was officiating as Chairman after Singh's death, would continue as Vice-Chairman, he said.
