Bajaj Electricals to induct late MD’s wife into board

MUMBAI: Bajaj Electricals will induct Pooja Bajaj, wife of late managing director Anant, on its board as a non-executive director in the absence of an immediate heir, a top executive close to the matter said. The 35-year-old will be gradually involved with the operations of the company.

Bajaj Electricals is also hiring a new executive director, who will take the responsibilities of chief operating officer soon and may later be made its chief executive.

After the sudden demise of Anant Bajaj in August, his father, 70-year-old Shekhar Bajaj, has taken over as the managing director of the electrical goods maker.
