Auction for discovered small fields: Deadline to submit bids extended
By extending bidding window, the government is hoping to garner better responses for the 59 oil and gas fields being offered in this round.

Companies can now submit their bids by January 18. “Due to consistent demand of investors, the last date for submission of bids for India Discovered Small Fields (DSF) Bid Round-II is now extended,” the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH) tweeted on Thursday.
By extending bidding window, the government is hoping to garner better responses for the 59 oil and gas fields being offered in this round. The first round was dominated by state-run companies and startups.
The 59 fields in the second round are spread over 3000 sq km and are grouped into 25 contract areas for the auction.
These small fields were originally discovered by ONGC and Oil India but remained undeveloped for years prompting the government to take these away a few years ago for auction.
The fields are spread over Rajasthan, Gujarat, Kutch & Cambay shallow waters, Mumbai offshore, Assam and Tripura, Mahanadi shallow water, Andhra Pradesh onland and KG offshore.
