Upon examination by a veterinary surgeon from Vantara, Pratima was found to be suffering from multiple wounds, lacerations, severe stiffness in the limbs, and blindness in one eye. Additionally, she was severely malnourished, a condition shared by her calf, Maniklal. The duo's plight raised concerns as they were being held without proper ownership documentation, violating wildlife protection laws, as per a statement released by PETA.
Vantara, meaning 'Star of The Forest,' is a wildlife preservation initiative spearheaded by Anant Ambani and supported by Reliance Industries and Reliance Foundation. Nestled within the expansive Jamnagar Refinery Complex spanning 3,000 acres, Vantara serves as a sanctuary for animals facing abuse, injury, or extinction threats.
Founded with a mission to provide compassionate care and advanced medical assistance to distressed animals, Vantara adopts a holistic approach to rehabilitation, offering a natural and nurturing habitat conducive to the physical and emotional well-being of its inhabitants.
