Upon receiving the award, Anant Ambani said, “I thank Global Humane Society for this honour. For me, it reaffirms a timeless principle, sarva bhuta hita, the well-being of all beings. Animals teach us balance, humility and trust. Through Vantara, our purpose is to give every life dignity, care and hope, guided by the spirit of seva. Conservation is not for tomorrow; it is a shared dharma we must uphold today.”

The American Humane Society’s certification process is widely regarded as one of the most stringent. Vantara underwent an exhaustive audit that evaluated parameters ranging from animal nutrition, environmental quality and behavioural enrichment to medical protocols, staffing expertise and species-specific needs.
What sets Vantara apart is its design as a long-term conservation ecosystem rather than a standalone rescue facility. The initiative combines ex situ care with in situ conservation support. Its programmes include protecting endangered species, restoring fragmented populations, conducting genetic research, and collaborating with global institutions to strengthen biodiversity outcomes. The initiative aims to create pathways for reintroducing endangered or extinct species back into suitable habitats.

The award also places India’s conservation efforts in the global spotlight. For Anant Ambani, the honour reinforces a commitment to building scientific, humane and future-ready systems for wildlife protection. His emphasis on combining traditional values with contemporary conservation science has shaped Vantara’s guiding philosophy.
With this recognition, Vantara is expected to deepen international collaborations and expand its work in species survival and ecosystem restoration. The award highlights the growing relevance of Indian conservation models in global discussions and positions Vantara as an emerging leader in the field.
