Anand Mahindra conferred India's Businessman of 2007

Mahindra & Mahindra vice-chairman Anand Mahindra was conferred Business India's Businessman of the Year 2007 award.

MUMBAI: Mahindra & Mahindra vice-chairman Anand Mahindra was on Sunday conferred Business India's Businessman of the Year 2007 award.

Vodafone CEO Arun Sarin gave the award to Mahindra here. "It is an honour and privilege to receive this prestigious award. Awards like this inspire greater self-confidence," Mahindra said after receiving the award.

"Anand Mahindra has built the Mahindra Group into a world class company. India's widely recognised success and continuing growth results from a combination of factors, amongst which has been the quality of our business leaders and entrepreneurs," Sarin said.

This is the 26th edition of the award. Last year's winner was Bharat Forge managing director Baba Kalyani.

The jury that selected Mahindra comprised ICICI Bank Joint MD Chanda Kochhar, Hindalco MD Debu Bhattacharya, McKinsey MD Adil Zainulbhai, Blackstone India Chairman Akhil Gupta, Financial Technologies Chairman Jignesh Shah and Mahindra Systech President Hemant Luthra.
