Indian-origin Vaibhav Taneja became the new Tesla Chief Financial Officer after Zachary Kirkhorn stepped down from his position.
Taking to his LinkedIn account, Kirkhorn informed that after being part of the company for 13 years, he has left the position. He also thanked Tesla's CEO Elon Musk for his leadership and optimism.

After completing is graduation Delhi University, Taneja did his CA articleship at PricewaterhouseCoopers in India during 1996-99, according to a report by The Economic Times. continued there in audit practice till 2003 when he moved to the US. Taneja worked with PwC US till 2016. "He was a very nice and bright youngster. So, he was sent to PwC US on an exchange programme. He then decided to stay back," Sivarama Krishnan, leader - risk consulting at PwC India who had worked with him in the audit practice, told ET.

After leaving PwC in 2016, Taneja joined a company named SolarCity, a solar energy systems company. Eventually Tesla acquired the company.

In 2017, Taneja joined Tesla as an assistant corporate controller, and was promoted to its corporate controller. In March 2019, he was promoted to the post of Chief Accounting Officer in the company owned by Elon Musk.
