Akshaya Patra Foundation announces fellowship for youngsters and social entrepreneurs

The objective of the programme, according to CEO Sridhar Venkat, is to train aspirants to implement the Foundation’s initiatives in the areas of education, hygiene, sanitation, soft-skill training, and nutrition.

BENGALURU: The Akshaya Patra Foundation, a non-profit that helps in the implementation of the Central government’s mid-day meal scheme in 14,173 schools across the country, has announced an eight-month-long fellowship to encourage youngsters and social entrepreneurs to participate in the organisation’s initiatives.

The objective of the programme, according to CEO Sridhar Venkat, is to train aspirants to implement the Foundation’s initiatives in the areas of education, hygiene, sanitation, soft-skill training, and nutrition. Fellowships will be awarded to 12 aspirants. “We look forward to work with enthusiastic, energetic and driven individuals who wish to contribute to the society through their skills and talents,” Venkat said.

The programme will take place across the 12 States where the Foundation runs mid-day meal schemes. Fellows will also be trained in leadership, people management, public-speaking, conflict resolution, relationship building, time management and problem solving. The last date to apply for the fellowship is July 31, 2018.
