Airtel CMO Raj Pudipeddi resigns

Pudipeddi was with the Sunil Mittal-owned telecom for about a year and had joined last February. According to sources, he is expected to join a consumer segment.

MUMBAI: Bharti Airtel's director of consumer business and chief marketing officer for its India operations, Raj Pudipeddi has resigned.

Pudipeddi was with the Sunil Mittal owned telecom for about a year and had joined last February. He was reporting to Gopal Vittal, MD & CEO (India), Bharti Airtel.

Airtel spokesperson confirmed the development and said “Raj has decided to move on due to family reasons. We wish him the very best in all his future endeavours.”


The company added that Vani Venkatesh has been appointed as CMO - Bharti Airtel as part of its philosophy of providing growth opportunities to internal talent. She was earlier CEO - Retail.

The position of head for Airtel’s consumer business was lying vacant after Srini Gopalan quit the country's top telecom service provider to join Deutsche Telekom as head of its Europe business. Pudipeddi's responsibility included driving market share, strengthening the Airtel brand and driving customer centric innovations within the teams.
