Mumbai: Global private equity investor Advent International has raised $30 billion, including nearly $27 billion for its 11th flagship fund and more than $3 billion for a newly launched mid-market strategy.

Advent Global Private Equity XI (GPE XI) exceeded its target of $26 billion, making it the largest buyout fund to complete fundraising so far in 2026, the firm said in a statement on Tuesday. The new mid-market fund, launched in March, has secured commitments exceeding $3 billion.

The investors or limited partners include pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, foundations, family offices and high-net-worth individuals.

“In over four decades of investing, we’ve learned that when you partner with outstanding management teams to build lasting companies, great results follow," said James Brocklebank, Managing Partner and Co-Chair of Advent’s Executive Committee.

The fundraising comes amid an active year for Advent's investment and exit activity. The firm has returned approximately $13 billion to investors through realisations across 27 businesses in 2026, while investing around $10 billion across 38 new and existing businesses, including completed and pending transactions, it said.

"We're proud to have raised $30 billion across our global fund complex and excited about what it means for India," said Shweta Jalan, managing partner at Advent. The firm's recent Indian investments include Yatharth Hospitals, Iscon Balaji, Aditya Birla Housing Finance, Svatantra and Apollo 24/7.

Advent made its first investment in India in October 2007, backing Computer Age Management Services (CAMS), and opened its Mumbai office in 2009. Since then, the firm has invested more than $5.6 billion in the country across 23 investments.

Its recent investments include Yatharth Hospitals, Iscon Balaji, Aditya Birla Housing Finance and Felix Pharma. Recent exits include Birla Capital in October 2025, Manjushree in March 2025 and BSV in October 2024.

The new mid-market strategy marks Advent's first dedicated vehicle for smaller buyouts and growth investments. It will target equity investments of $100 million to $350 million in companies with enterprise values of up to $1.25 billion, primarily in North America and Europe, it said.

GPE XI will continue to invest across geographies, sectors, deal types and sizes, with a focus on Europe and North America, while maintaining an active presence in Asia-Pacific and Latin America. Advent will also pursue complex corporate carve-outs and public-to-private transactions.
