Adani Group to focus on resources, logistics and energy sectors
Adani Group plans to transform and streamline its businesses to focus on 3 core sectors - resources, logistics and energy.
The group will also hive off non-core operations, such as its real estate business, and form separate companies that will be operated by Adani family, chairman Gautam Adani said at the launch of the new brand identity of the group.
"We are streamlining our businesses so that we can expand expediently in new geographies," Gautam said.
"Taking cues from our global businesses, we have decided to actively manage the Adani brand. As a first step, we are unveiling a new visual expression to symbolise the modernity and international potential of the group's business as well as the simplicity of our integrated business model," Gautam said. The company launched a new brand identity in line with a new motto "Thinking big. Doing better."
"The holding company at Adani would continue to divest in non-core business. The Adani family would pursue these businesses at an arm's length," said Ameet Desai, group's spokesperson said.
The company aims to scale up its power generation capacity to 20,000 megawatt (mw) by 2020 from 4,000 mw.
"We have begun coal mine exploration programme in the Galilee Basin in Queensland in Australia. We are now India's largest power producer in the private sector. And we have developed a new brand to symbolize an integrated infrastructure business model," Adani said.
