ABG appoints S Rangarajan as wires & cables business CEO

Mumbai: The Aditya Birla Group has appointed Sriram Rangarajan as chief executive officer of its upcoming wires and cables business, sharpening leadership ahead of a planned third-quarter launch and marking its fourth new venture incubation in the past three years.

Rangarajan joins from CG Power and Industrial Solutions, where he led the consumer businesses. The group has also firmed up the core management team for this new subsidiary of Ultratech Cement, executives aware of the latest raft of appointments told ET.

It has brought in internal talent Rajesh Annamalai, earlier treasury head of Aditya Birla Fashion &Retail, as CFO, Ajay Sharma ex- Havells CXO as manufacturing head, and Bhushan Sawhney. Ex- Polycab CXO, to lead sales, signalling a rapid build-out of execution capabilities for the new vertical.


The group did not respond to ET's mailed requests for a comment.

The wires and cables venture is being closely overseen by chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla.
