'My Son is Back': Father of Renukaswamy, allegedly killed by actor Darshan, reacts to birth of grandson

Sahana, the wife of Renukaswamy, who was allegedly murdered by Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and others, gave birth to a baby boy on Wednesday. The child was born at a private hospital in Bengaluru, and both mother and child are reported to be healthy. Renukaswamy’s father, Kashinath Shivanagoudar, expressed his gratitude to the medical team that provided free treatment. Emotionally moved, he said, “Felt happy as though my son had come back.”

Sahana was five months pregnant when her husband was killed in June of this year, an incident that shocked many and brought significant attention to the ongoing murder investigation.

Darshan Case

The case against actor Darshan, his friend Pavithra Gowda, and 15 others has been progressing. Darshan is currently held in Ballari jail, while Pavithra is lodged in central prison, Bengaluru. Several of the other accused, who were detained in various jails across Karnataka, have recently been granted bail.

Details of the Murder

The police investigation revealed that 33-year-old Renukaswamy, a resident of Chitradurga and an ardent fan of Darshan, had sent inappropriate messages to Pavithra Gowda. This act is believed to have angered Darshan, leading to the fatal incident. Renukaswamy’s body was discovered near a stormwater drain in the Sumanahalli area of Bengaluru on June 9.

One of the accused, Raghavendra, who was also a member of Darshan's fan club, allegedly lured Renukaswamy to a shed in Bengaluru’s R R Nagar under the pretext of meeting the actor. It was in this shed that Renukaswamy was reportedly tortured and killed.

The post-mortem report confirmed that Renukaswamy died from shock and hemorrhage caused by multiple blunt injuries.

Role of the Main Accused

According to the police, Pavithra Gowda has been identified as the primary instigator in the murder. The investigation suggests that she conspired with the other accused and played a significant role in the crime. Police sources have named her as "accused number one" in the case.

The case continues to attract widespread attention as the legal proceedings against Darshan and others unfold.
