The bandh, which encompasses private vehicles such as autos, taxis, maxi cabs, goods vehicles, and corporate buses, has brought transportation services in the city to a standstill. The police have issued stern warnings against any disruptive activities during this period.
Taking into consideration the impact of the bandh on commuters, the Bengaluru Airport Authority has advised passengers to make adequate arrangements to ensure they reach the airport on time.
As the day unfolds, the city awaits the resolution of the demands that have led to this significant disruption in its transportation services.
In addition, passengers traveling to the airport may need to find alternative modes of transportation. The federation has called for the bandh to demand a ban on bike taxis and for the government to expand the Shakti scheme, which provides free bus rides to women on state-run buses, to include private buses. The private transporters complain that the Shakti plan has harmed them and that the state government has failed to address their concerns despite several conversations.
