Family of five, including 3 kids, commit mass suicide in Tumakuru, Karnataka

In a tragic incident in the Sadashivanagar area of Tumakuru city, Karnataka, a family of five was found dead in their home on Sunday night. As per a TOI report, the deceased, identified as Gareeb Saab, his wife Sumaiyya, their daughter Hajira, and sons Mohammad Shabhan and Mohammad Muneer, have taken their own lives due to mounting debts and alleged mistreatment.

According to Tumakuru SP, Ashok Kumar, a suicide note and a self-recorded video left by the family revealed that they resorted to this extreme step due to their financial burdens. "A case has been registered, and we are currently investigating the matter," he stated.

The video left behind by the deceased shed light on the torment they faced from individuals residing in the same building. This constant harassment ultimately pushed the family to take such a drastic course of action.


Upon discovery, the bodies were found hanging, and authorities have already taken five individuals into custody as suspects in this tragic incident. Further details are yet to be disclosed as the investigation continues.

In a separate incidence, a 16-year-old class 10 student Priyanshu Yadav from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, committed suicide after succumbing to the constant cyberbullying. Priyanshu, who desired to be a social media influencer, lived in the Ujjain district with his single mother, Preeti.

Priyanshu became the focus of abusive comments and homophobic insults on social media after expressing himself through videos of him dressed in saris and wearing makeup. Overwhelmed by the vitriol, Priyanshu, who has over 15,000 Instagram followers, chose to terminate his life by hanging himself with his mother's dupatta.
