Don’t have BBMP Khata? Not even manual one? Here is how to get new property khata online

Bengaluru's civic body, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, has introduced an online e-khata system to streamline property registration and tax compliance, targeting nearly five lakh properties currently outside the tax bracket.

Earlier, Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) has mandated all properties within its jurisdiction to transition to the e-khata system, replacing the conventional paper-based khata system from Septemebr 13, 2024.

The primary goal of this initiative is to bolster transparency in property transactions, facilitating the identification of instances of double registrations, illicit financial transactions, and other fraudulent activities. Furthermore, it will enable prospective buyers to verify the legality of the sites or houses they intend to purchase.


Here is how to get New BBMP Property Khata:
1. Large number of citizens in Bengaluru don’t have BBMP Khata. Not even manual Khata. This option is for such citizens.
2. ⁠You can apply ONLINE @ https://BBMP.karnataka.gov.in/NewKhata and yourself generate NEW BBMP KHATA if you don’t have a BBMP Khata.
3. ⁠If you have BBMP Khata and want eKhata , it is important to remember that to not try for new khata as such duplication makes person liable for criminal case.
4. To get New BBMP Khata, be ready with and enter online * Aadhaar number * ⁠your sale/regd deed number * ⁠property photo * ⁠Encumbrance Certificate of property at least one day before sale/regd deed until 31.10.24 or later.
