According to the complainant, one of the men overtook her in a rash manner and confronted her aggressively. She alleged that more men joined in, chasing her with bricks in hand and following her into her apartment complex. CCTV footage shows her car being blocked and vandalised. The suspects allegedly entered the gated community and continued the aggression.
Family members also assaulted
When the woman’s father and relatives tried to intervene, they were assaulted. Her father lodged a complaint at Hulimavu Police Station seeking immediate arrest of those involved.Police said the woman identified the attackers as cab drivers, but investigators are verifying whether they are linked to ride-hailing services or if they were known to her earlier.
FIR registered under multiple sections
An FIR has been filed under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNSS), including Section 126(2) (wrongful restraint), Section 118 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), Section 351 (criminal intimidation), and Section 329(3) (criminal trespass), along with provisions for mischief and causing hurt.Police have obtained the Medical Legal Case report of the complainant and are reviewing more CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts to trace the suspects.
