Bengaluru's Most Wanted: Why police are hunting for a TVS Scooty Pep+
Bengaluru police are on the lookout for a TVS Scooty Pep+ that holds a record-breaking 634 traffic violations, accumulating a hefty penalty of Rs 3.2 lakh. The scooter, captured on surveillance at Taralabalu junction, was registered to a woman in ...

The eye-catching images were captured by a surveillance camera at Taralabalu junction in RT Nagar and have been uploaded to the police database. Most violations are related to the absence of helmets, both by the rider and the pillion rider. While the scooter's registration number is KA04 KF 9072, it was purchased in 2021 by a woman in Ganganagar. However, the individual seen committing the violations on camera is believed to be a male relative, a TOI report stated.
DCP (traffic, north) Sachin Ghorpade revealed that a media person provided information about the violations, prompting the police to initiate a search for the owner. Unfortunately, the vehicle was not found at the registered address. Despite one case involving mobile phone usage while riding, the majority of the violations stem from not wearing helmets.
Investigations suggest that the middle-aged man, presumed to be the rider, seemed unaware that the traffic management system's cameras were diligently recording each offense. The Intelligent Traffic Management System camera at Taralabalu junction automatically captures violations. A police officer noted, "If a person takes a scooter to a nearby shop without wearing a helmet, each violation is recorded. We appeal to people to follow traffic rules rather than being caught off guard violating them."
