Bengaluru road rage: Taxi driver hits a biker after a small argument on overtaking in KR Puram; watch video

A cab driver allegedly rammed his vehicle into a motorbike during a road rage incident near KR Puram in Bengaluru on Friday, sending the pillion rider tumbling onto the road. The incident was captured on a dash cam, police said. This incident comes on the heels of another road rage case in Bengaluru which led to death of a delivery agent.

Dash cam footage captures incident

The entire episode, which occurred near KR Puram on Friday, was recorded on the dash cam of a car trailing behind the two vehicles. The footage shows a white taxi overtaking the biker at close range, after which the biker accelerates and begins arguing with the taxi driver. Moments later, the driver is seen steering sharply toward the bike, ramming into it from the side. The impact sends the two-wheeler spinning, and the pillion rider is thrown onto the road.


After the collision, the cab driver got out of his car, argued with the biker and snatched the ignition key from the bike. Another man, believed to be the driver’s companion, was seen trying to defuse the situation.

Police investigation under way

Police said they are verifying the authenticity of the footage and have begun investigating the case based on a complaint filed by the driver who recorded the video.

Similar road rage incidents in Bengaluru

Earlier this week, a 24-year-old food delivery agent was killed after a couple allegedly rammed their car into his scooter following a minor scrape near a city junction. According to police, the accused were enraged after the scooter brushed against their car’s side mirror. The husband and wife were arrested and remanded to 14-day judicial custody.

Officials noted that this incident adds to a growing list of violent road rage cases reported from Bengaluru in recent months, raising concerns over increasing aggression on city roads.
