Congress has alleged that the shoddy work was the result of the BJP's 40 per cent commission policy.
Within four months of its inauguration, a road above Kundanahalli underpass in Bengaluru caved in yesterday, triggering allegation of corruption against the ruling BJP government. The service road, built as part of a Rs 19.5-crore underpass project at the Bengaluru's Kundalahalli junction, is an important link to the city's IT hub.

A huge pothole has emerged in the middle of the key stretch, after water pipeline reportedly burst under the road yesterday. The mobility team, the Mahadevapura Task Force, tweeted on Sunday, “BWSSB Cauvery Water Pipeline burst at Kundanhalli Junction: Impact to Cauvery Water Supply and Traffic Movement. 450 mm Cauvery Water Main Pipeline had burst early in the morning today at the Kundanhalli Gate Junction. (sic)”

The water pipe burst also resulted in water supply disruption in areas like Munekolala, Thubrahalli, AECS Layout, BEML Layout and Kundalahalli.

Later in the day, the task force tweeted that the pipeline repair work has been completed. The Mahadevapura Task Force tweeted: "The 450mm main pipeline has been repaired in the shortest possible time by a well coordinated effort from BBMP projects team, BWSSB and BTP (Bangalore Traffic Police) HAL & Whitefield."

Meanwhile, a huge sinkhole was still there on the road. On Monday morning, the civic authorities swung into action and started fixing the damage. The traffic police warned commuters of slow movement of traffic on Kundanhalli road due to repair works.

However, Congress has alleged that the shoddy work was the result of the BJP's 40 per cent commission policy.

The Congress has been pursuing its campaign against alleged irregularities in the Karnataka government and has stepped up its attack against the BJP over the past few weeks.

Sharing the video of caved in road, Congress leader Priyank Kharge tweeted, “Commission Rate Card: Religious heads - 30%. State Contractors - 40%. BBMP - 50%. 40 Percent Sarkara has ensured a systemic decay in Governance that has led to collapse of our progressive state. (Sic)” This was in reference to allegations of commission being sought for any work linked to the government.
