As per IMD, Bengaluru is expected to be marked by consistent rainfall and cloudy skies. Starting 26 May, light rain is forecast for two days, accompanied by slightly cooler temperatures ranging from 20°C to 27°C. A shift towards heavier rainfall is anticipated on 28 and 29 May, with temperatures dipping to a low of 19°C. The final two days of the month—30 and 31 May—are also likely to see rain, maintaining a steady temperature range of 20°C to 26°C. Residents are advised to carry umbrellas and prepare for wet conditions throughout the week.

Heavy monsoon rains are lashing Karnataka's coastal belt for the third consecutive day on Monday severely disrupting normal life in Dakshina Kannada district, prompting authorities to issue a red alert and deploy disaster response teams. The red alert for coastal Karnataka will remain in force for the next five days, the IMD said.
Several parts of Mangaluru city reported waterlogging and traffic snarls as the drainage systems failed to cope with the downpour.
According to officials, minor incidents of landslides were reported from hilly regions across the district.
Thokkuttu, Goodinabali, Marakada, Panamburu and adjoining places were also waterlogged.

Two people, including a 12-year-old, were electrocuted while trying to drain rainwater that had entered an apartment in the city. According to Mico Layout Police, Manmohan Kamath (63), a resident of Madhuvan Apartment in NS Palya near BTM 2nd Stage, had tried to use a motorised pump to clear water out of his house on Monday evening.
"When he connected the pump to a socket, there was a short circuit, leading to his electrocution," a police officer involved in the investigation said.
The two were declared dead by doctors at a hospital. Unnatural Death Reports (UDRs) will be registered in both cases, the Station Head Officer confirmed.
So far, three people have been killed in pre-monsoon rains.
Earlier, Sasikala (35) died when a compound wall fell on her while she was sweeping at a company within the limits of Mahadevapura Police Station.
