The Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPCL) has taken up periodic maintenance and major infrastructure upgrades at several locations. As a result, BESCOM (Bangalore Electricity Supply Company) has announced power interruptions across the city.

These planned outages are necessary to improve the city’s power system and ensure a more stable supply in the future.

• Report prolonged outages via BESCOM's helpline or app

Earlier on Friday, the IT city observed power cut from 10 AM to 5 PM in multiple areas including Mahalakshmi Layout, Rajajinagar, Yeshwanthpura Industrial Area, and Indiranagar. Specific localities affected include Manjunath Nagar, JC Nagar, the Punjab National Bank area, Modi Hospital Road, Gruhalakshmi Layout, and nearby colonies. Other affected spots included Unix Colony, Kirloskar Colony, Karnataka Layout, Kamala Nagar, Bovi Palya, GD Naidu Hall, BNES College, Bell Apartment, Toyota Showroom, Lumos Apartment, and the Sandal Soap Factory area. Power disruptions also extended to key tech zones around Bannerghatta Road and BTM Layout—impacting IAS Colony, NS Palya Industrial Area, Electronic City Phases 1 and 2, Tech Mahindra, Hebbagodi, and Hulimangala Station.

The cuts were also seen in areas like Peenya, Rajagopala Nagar, and surrounding layouts will see outages from 10 AM to 5 PM on Saturday. This includes HMT Main Road, CMTI, Boralingappa Garden, GKW Layout, Bank Colony, Vignan Public School, RNS Apartment, ESI Hospital, Akash Theatre Road, Kasthuri Road, Friends Circle, and Malayali Guest House Road. Peripheral regions like Tharabanahalli, Hesaraghatta, Chikkabanavara, Dasenahalli, and Soladevanahalli are also on the list.

On June 22, power cuts from 10 AM to 5 PM targeted Electronic City Phase-1 and surrounding areas. Localities such as Doddathoguru, Bommanahalli, NJR Layout, Chikkathoguru, Konappana Agrahara, and Hongasandra were affected.
