The Bengaluru Metro has terminated a security supervisor for preventing a farmer from using its train services due to alleged inappropriate attire. The incident, which occurred at Rajajinagar Metro station on February 18, sparked outrage after a commuter posted a video of the incident on social media.

The video shows the security supervisor stopping the farmer, citing his attire as the reason for denial of service. The farmer, wearing a white shirt and carrying clothes on his head, had a valid ticket but was still prevented from boarding.

Reacting to the incident, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) stated, "Namma (Bengaluru) metro is an inclusive public transport. This Rajajinagar incident is probed and the services of the security supervisor are terminated. BMRCL regrets the inconvenience caused to the passenger."

The video went viral, with many criticizing the BMRCL for the actions of its security staff. In the video, a commuter standing next to the farmer intervened and questioned the security staff's decision. He argued for the farmer's right to use the metro, pointing out that he did not violate any rules.

Following the intervention, the farmer was allowed to board the metro. The BMRCL's decision to terminate the security supervisor's services highlights the importance of ensuring equal access to public services and addressing discriminatory practices.

The incident underscores the role of individuals in advocating for the rights of others and the impact of social media in highlighting such issues. It also emphasizes the need for public transport services to be inclusive and accessible to all citizens.
