Bengaluru man finds live worm in salad ordered from Fresh Menu via Zomato, video goes viral

A Bengaluru man found a live worm in a salad he ordered online from FreshMenu via Zomato. He shared a video of the incident on Instagram, showing the worm crawling in the salad bowl. The man, Pratik, also showed his bill for four items, noting he only received three. "After seeing this, I don't want to open the other two," he said in the video. He urged Zomato to investigate.

The video, shared by Instagram user @fitnesskapratik, shows the Bengaluru man pointing to the worm crawling inside his salad. He explains that he ordered a meal from Fresh Menu, but received only three items instead of four. Upon inspecting the salad, he found the live worm. In the video, the man says, "After seeing this, I don't want to open the other two." He requests Zomato to investigate the matter.

The video quickly went viral, with the man urging others to be cautious when ordering food from outside. In his post, he wrote, “#fitness #healthyfood #fssaiindia #zomato #food #homefood #gym. After a long time, I decided to have something from outside, and this happened. Please, guys, try to avoid outside food, and if you have no other option, then please check the food properly before eating.” He tagged Bengaluru as the location.

Fresh Menu's Response

Fresh Menu was quick to address the incident, issuing an apology to the customer. The company’s statement read, “Pratik, we are writing to extend our sincerest apologies for the incident you experienced with your recent order from FreshMenu. Finding a live worm in your salad is absolutely unacceptable, and we are deeply sorry for this lapse on our kitchen's part. To address this matter, our team acted immediately upon learning of the incident. Our representatives visited you in person to understand your concerns and offer our apologies directly. Furthermore, we have identified the lapse in our processes and have taken strict disciplinary action against the team responsible to prevent such incidents from happening again. Additional training and heightened checks have also been implemented across our kitchens.”

The incident sparked a wave of online reactions, with many sharing their own negative experiences with Fresh Menu. One user wrote, “Yup.
