Bengaluru commuter uses Porter app to deliver himself to office after Ola, Uber no-show, netizens call him 'genius'

A Bengaluru resident, facing long wait times for ride-hailing services, used a goods delivery app, Porter, for his commute to work due to difficulties finding rides on Uber and Ola. The man, known as Pathik on social media, posted a photo of himself riding pillion on a Porter two-wheeler on February 6. The image shows him riding with a delivery partner and wearing a helmet with the company’s branding. His caption read: “Had to porter myself to office today because no Ola, Uber.”

Many social media users praised his ingenuity as a solution to Bengaluru’s traffic and ride-hailing challenges. Several users called it a “genius Bengaluru moment,” appreciating his creative solution to the city’s traffic and ride-hailing delays. Some users mentioned they had thought of similar alternatives but never attempted them, while others suggested shifting work hours to avoid congestion.

In a separate incident, a Bengaluru man stuck in traffic on a flyover received a safety check message from the ride-hailing app Rapido. The man shared his experience on social media, explaining that the message arrived after his auto-rickshaw remained stationary for an extended period. Such alerts are common from ride-hailing services when vehicles are stopped for a significant amount of time. In this case, the heavy Bengaluru traffic triggered the safety alert.
