Mumbai attacks seen as model for future terrorism
Anti-terror officials say the Mumbai attacks may become a model for low-frills terrorism groups to follow.
At a Senate hearing Thursday, the FBI's Donald Van Duyn said the attacks that left 164 dead in India shows how simple weaponry can inflict massive casualties.
Van Duyn was testifying along with Homeland Security officials about the lessons learned from the ordeal in November.
Van Duhn, the FBI's chief intelligence officer, told lawmakers that as much as governments worry about chemical, biological, or radiological attacks, Mumbai may encourage other terror groups to attempt similar low-tech violence.
