UTI Mutual Fund to co-sponsor KBC

NEW DELHI: In the run up to launch of six new schemes, the country's largest fund house UTI has signed up as an associate sponsor for the brand new season of popular game show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati', which brings matinee idol Shahrukh Khan on board as the quiz master.
The new series of Star TV's blockbuster show, slated to begin from January sans Amitabh Bachchan, has already been touted as a potential big grosser with Khan's ready wit and charisma set to woo audiences and advertisers.
"We had been looking for an innovative channel for the promotion of our products and with the association we have got with KBC, we have a right platform to reach our target group," UTI Mutual Fund Chief Marketing Officer Jaideep Bhattacharya told media.
The fund house has already chalked out aggressive product expansion plans and intends to launch six new schemes within a short span of three months.
'Long Term Advantage Fund' would be the first scheme to launch by the fund house while the other five products would come out by early March next year, he said. The fund manager would launch a close-ended tax-saving scheme in January 2007, an international fund in February and a Gold-Fund in March.
"We expect significant value out of the tie-up," he said, adding the air-time would be used for the promotion of the various schemes as well as educating investors about the mutual fund industry.
UTI Mutual Fund's name would come along with the KBC III promos across all the channels of Star Group.
