SEBI constitutes advisory committee on MF

Market regulator SEBI has constituted an advisory committee on mutual funds under the chairmanship of former UTI Chairman S A Dave.

MUMBAI: Market regulator SEBI has constituted an advisory committee on mutual funds under the chairmanship of former UTI Chairman S A Dave.

The 15-member body is expected to provide a platform to discuss and debate on issues and policies relating to mutual funds industry.

While stating that SEBI would be setting up an advisory committee on mutual funds, its chairman C B Bhave had said, "Shift of focus to client's needs would be in the interest of the mutual fund industry".

The body also has A P Kurian, chairman of AMFI, the apex body of mutual funds industry. Other members of the council are MD of HDFC Asset Management Milind Barve, Fidelity Fund management CEO Ashu Suyash.

Besides, other members of the newly constituted council are MD Tata Asset Management V P Chaturvedi, MD J M Financial Assets Management N P Ghanekar and N L Bakliwal.

SEBI already has advisory committees on primary and secondary markets.
