SBI MF for customer education campaign

SBI Mutual Fund as part of its plan to educate customers about the mutual fund will organise 'customer education'.

KOCHI: SBI Mutual Fund as part of its plan to educate customers about the mutual fund will organise 'customer education', a top official of the SBI Mutual Fund said on Tuesday.

Initially on a pilot basis customer education campaign would be organised in 50 villages and 50 semi-urban places in the country, SBI Funds Management Managing Director Syed Shahabuddin told reporters here.

The 45 minute audio/visual film will explain the good and risk factors connected with the mutual fund, he said, adding that if the campaign was successful then it would be expanded to 400 centres by the end of this fiscal.

Initial campaign would concentrate mostly in centres in Punjab and Andhra Pradesh, he said.

'We have a 25 per cent market share in Kerala market with Rs 767 crore Asset Under Management (AUM)', he said.
SBIMF is the seventh largest fund house in the country with more than Rs 22,000 crore as asset under management (AUM) and are handling equity assets of Rs 16,000 crore, he said.
