Samco Mutual Fund files draft with Sebi for a large cap fund

Samco Mutual Fund has filed for a large cap equity scheme, Samco Large Cap Fund, aiming for long-term capital appreciation. The fund will invest predominantly in large-cap stocks, using a momentum-based strategy, with an active management approach.

Samco Mutual Fund has filed a draft document with Sebi for a large cap fund. Samco Large Cap Fund will be an open-ended equity scheme predominantly investing in large cap stocks.

The investment objective of the scheme will be to generate long-term capital appreciation from a diversified portfolio predominantly consisting of equity and equity related instruments of large cap companies.

The scheme will be benchmarked against Nifty 100 TRI. It will be managed by Nirali Bhansali, Umeshkumar Mehta, and Dhawal Ghanshyam Dhanani.

The large cap scheme will offer regular and direct plans both with growth options only. 10% of units can be redeemed without an exit load within 12 months of allotment. Any redemption in excess of such a limit in the first 12 months will incur 1% exit load. No exit load, if redeemed or switched out after 12 months from the date of allotment of unit.

The minimum application amount for lumpsum investment will be Rs 5,000 and in multiples of Re 1 thereafter. For SIP, the minimum amount will be Rs 500 and above with minimum 12 instalments.

The scheme will allocate 80-100% in equity and equity related instruments of large cap companies, 0-20% in equity and equity related instruments of other companies, 0-20% in debt and money market instruments, and 0-10% in units issued by REITs and InvITs.

The maximum total expense ratio (TER) permissible under Regulation 52 (6) (c) will be up to 2.25%.
