Quant MF unveils QSIF Sector Rotation Long-Short Fund to tap cyclical opportunities
Quant Mutual Fund will launch QSIF Sector Rotation Long-Short Fund, an open-ended investment strategy investing in equity and equity-related instruments, including limited short exposure in equity through derivative instruments, of a maximum of four sectors.
This SIF is suitable for investors who are seeking to achieve long-term capital appreciation by concentrating investments in equity and equity-related instruments of up to four high-potential sectors, while employing limited short exposure through derivatives to capitalise on sector-specific downturns and enhance risk-adjusted returns.

The subscription and redemption frequency is daily. An exit load of 1% will be applicable if redeemed/switched out on or before completion of 15 days from the date of allotment of units. No exit load is payable if units are redeemed/switched out after 15 days from the date of allotment.

QSIF Sector Rotation Long-Short Fund will allocate 80–100% in investment in equity and equity-related instruments of a maximum of four sectors, 0–20% in investments in Debt and Money Market Instruments, and 0–20% in investments in ReITs and InVITs.

The investment approach of this fund is designed to capitalise on cyclical and macroeconomic trends by allocating at least 80% of its net assets to equity and equity-related instruments within a focused portfolio of up to four sectors, selected through rigorous cycles analytics to identify high-growth prospects and opportunistic market conditions.

The strategy incorporates up to 25% in unhedged short derivative positions, applied uniformly at the sector level, ensuring all stocks within a shorted sector are held as short positions to maintain disciplined risk management.

The portfolio maintains 80–100% in long equity positions, with the option to hold up to 20% in cash or money market instruments for liquidity and tactical adjustments. Additional derivative exposure beyond the 25% cap is permitted exclusively for 100% hedging of the long portfolio and for rebalancing, enabling the fund to dynamically adapt to evolving sector dynamics while mitigating risk and optimising returns.
