Nimesh Shah elected as AMFI chairman

Nimesh Shah , MD & CEO of ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company, was on Friday elected the chairperson of the fund industry trade body AMFI.

Nimesh Shah , MD & CEO of ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company, was on Friday elected the chairperson of the fund industry trade body AMFI. Kailash Kulkarni, CEO, L&T Mutual Fund continues to be the Vice Chairperson. As per AMFI data, the Indian mutual fund industry manages nearly 21 lakh crore of assets (Average AUM July-Sept 2018)

Shah joined mutual fund industry in July 2007 having being appointed as MD & CEO of ICICI Prudential AMC. As on September end, ICICI Prudential manages assets worth 3,10,257 crores. ICICI Pru AMC is the largest AMC on the basis of assets under management.

The company has achieved leadership position in the Indian Mutual Fund industry in his tenure. His focus has been always on being investor-centric, maintaining high levels of transparency and disclosures besides sticking to basics. This has helped the company to establish itself as a credible and trust worthy brand.


For his remarkable contribution, Shah was conferred with the India Asset Management CEO of the Year – 2014 by Asia Asset Management. Recently, Global Banking & Finance review honored him with the Best Asset Management CEO India – 2017.
