The fund attracted strong investor participation from India and abroad, exceeding its initial target of '6,500 crore. It achieved closure in less than 10 months of launch in mid-April 2025, the Motilal Oswal Group's PE arm said in a statement on Monday.

Mumbai: Motilal Oswal Alternates raised '8,500 crore ($930 million) for its fifth private equity vehicle, India Business Excellence Fund V (IBEF V), marking its largest-ever PE fund.

The fund attracted strong investor participation from India and abroad, exceeding its initial target of '6,500 crore. It achieved closure in less than 10 months of launch in mid-April 2025, the Motilal Oswal Group's PE arm said in a statement on Monday.

The investors included Adams Street Partners, Schroders, one of the funds managed by Neuberger Berman, International Finance Corporation, Oman Investment Authority, Axiom Asia, leading Japanese institutions, domestic financial institutions, along with a broadbase of international and domestic family offices, it said.
