MF major makes ‘juicy offer’ for equities manager

A mutual fund, which recently made an acquisition and has been trying to rope in a highprofile fund manager to manage its newly acquired equity assets, is said to have shortlisted a few candidates for the job. The buzz in the mutual fund industry is that a senior equities fund manager of an asset management company, sponsored by a financial institution, is said to be in the race.

Sources said the mutual fund has made a ‘juicy offer’ to the fund manager, who may take up the offer. The mutual fund is also scouting for a debt fund manager, who can attract corporate money.
