Ashis Kumar takes charge as LIC Mutual Fund’s MD and CEO, bringing over three decades of experience across investments, operations, marketing and financial services.

LIC Mutual Fund Asset Management has announced the appointment of Ashis Kumar as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer with effect from September 26, according to a press release by the fund house.

The release further said that Kumar assumes leadership of LIC Mutual Fund at a significant juncture in the company's growth trajectory. With over three decades of experience spanning investments, business operations, distribution, marketing, and enterprise leadership, he brings a deep understanding of India's financial services landscape and a proven track record of driving institutional growth.

Prior to his appointment as Managing Director & CEO, Kumar served as the Chief Operating Officer of LIC Mutual Fund Asset Management, where he played a key role in strengthening operational capabilities, enhancing business efficiency, and driving the organization's strategic objectives.

Before joining LIC Mutual Fund, he held several senior leadership positions at Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC of India), including Chief (Investment) and Secretary (Investment) at the Corporation's Central Office. In Marketing, he has held important positions such as Senior Divisional Manager at Bangalore Divisions and Regional Manager (Marketing) of the Karnataka Unit in the South-Central Zone of LIC of India.

Kumar is a graduate of St. Xavier's College, Ranchi, and completed a Post Graduate Executive Programme from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. He is also a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India, and NSE certified market professional.
