The New Fund Offer (NFO) is open for subscription and will close on July 13. The fund is designed to help investors navigate increasingly dynamic markets through a diversified, actively managed long-short strategy.

The Prism Hybrid Long-Short Fund seeks to generate long-term capital appreciation along with income by investing across equity, debt, derivatives and alternative opportunity sleeves. By combining long positions, limited short exposure through derivatives, fixed income and differentiated investment opportunities such as merger arbitrage, collars, REITs, InvITs and special situations, the strategy aims to deliver improved risk-adjusted returns while maintaining relatively lower portfolio volatility and drawdowns.
The launch comes at a time when Indian equity markets have experienced heightened volatility, and wider dispersion across stocks and market capitalisations. Against this backdrop, investors are increasingly seeking solutions that can generate returns across different market environments while managing downside risks more effectively.
The performance of the scheme will be benchmarked against NIFTY 50 Hybrid Composite Debt 50:50 Index.
The investment strategy is powered by BlackRock’s global experience in alternatives combined with the JioBlackRock local investments team's experience in long-short strategies supported by advanced signal research, big data, machine learning and risk management capabilities licensed from BlackRock, including Aladdin®.
“Indian investors are increasingly looking beyond traditional investment approaches as markets become more dynamic and portfolios become more outcome-oriented. Specialized Investment Funds represent an important evolution in India’s investment landscape, offering access to sophisticated strategies within a transparent, SEBI-regulated framework,” said Sid Swaminathan, Managing Director and CEO, JioBlackRock Asset Management.
“The launch of the Prism Hybrid Long-Short Fund is aimed at offering institutional-quality investment capabilities to Indian investors, combining BlackRock’s global systematic investing expertise with deep local market insights to help investors in portfolio diversification,” Swaminathan further said.
The Prism Hybrid Long-Short Fund is an interval investment strategy with a minimum investment threshold of Rs 10 lakh, in line with SEBI’s Specialized Investment Fund framework. The fund will be available under both Direct and Regular plans, with Growth option, and will support lump sum investments, SIPs, STPs and SWPs on an ongoing basis.

“The investment environment today demands greater flexibility than conventional equity and fixed income strategies. The Prism Hybrid Long-Short Fund has been designed to identify opportunities across market cycles by combining equity, derivatives, fixed income and differentiated investment sleeves within a disciplined risk management framework,” said Rishi Kohli, Chief Investment Officer, JioBlackRock Asset Management.
“By actively managing both risk and opportunity, we seek to enhance risk-adjusted returns while reducing the impact of market volatility in a tax efficient manner. Our systematic investment approach, supported by advanced data analytics and multi-strategy design, seeks to identify opportunities that may not be possibly captured through traditional investment approaches,” Kohli said.
