Franklin Templeton MF launches Capital Safety Fund

Franklin Templeton (FT) Mutual Fund (MF) has launched FT Capital Safety Fund (FTCSF), a closed ended fund that targets capital protection.

MUMBAI: Franklin Templeton (FT) Mutual Fund (MF) has launched FT Capital Safety Fund (FTCSF), a closed ended fund that targets capital protection.

The fund offers a choice of three and five year plans as per investment horizon of an individual, said a release from FT MF.

The Fund will allocate majority of the assets to high quality fixed income assets, while seeking growth through partial allocation to stocks of well-managed companies.

The minimum investment amount under the FT's NFO is Rs 10,000

Under the NFO the allocation to debt instruments will be made in such a way that this grows at a steady rate to reach the value of the original principal at maturity so that investor can get back Rs 100 for ever Rs 100 invested, the release said.

The remaining portion will be invested in carefully selected stocks, adding to the return potential, if the share prices move up.

The new fund offer (NFO) opened on October 31 and closes on November 30.
