Franklin India Small Cap Fund crossed Rs 14,000 crore AUM, with long-term SIP returns showcasing the potential of disciplined investing and compounding.
According to a press release by the fund house, the fund's growth has been supported by its consistent focus on identifying high-quality small-cap companies with strong growth potential and scalable business models. Over the years, the scheme has helped investors participate in India's economic growth story through carefully selected emerging businesses across sectors.

Franklin India Small Cap Fund has delivered competitive long-term returns and has outperformed its benchmark, the Nifty Smallcap 250 Index, over the last 15 years and since inception, reflecting the effectiveness of its research-driven investment approach.
The scheme's long-term track record highlights the potential of disciplined investing in the small-cap segment, which has historically been a source of alpha generation for patient investors willing to remain invested through market cycles.
The fund house further said that the fund's performance is reflected in the wealth it has created for investors over time. A one-time investment of Rs 10,000 made at the fund's inception would have grown to approximately Rs. 1.79 lakh as of end of August 2026, representing a seventeen-fold increase in value.
A Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) of Rs 10,000 per month over the last 15 years till the end of August 2026 would have accumulated to approximately Rs 81 lakh, demonstrating the benefits of disciplined investing and the power of long-term compounding.
The scheme carries an exit load of 1% for units redeemed within one year from the date of investment to encourage longer term investments that allow for the scheme’s thesis to play out.
Investors can start with a minimum initial investment of Rs 5,000 and in multiples of Re 1 thereafter. Additional investments can be made with a minimum amount of Rs 1,000 and in multiples of Re 1 thereafter.

In the last three years, the fund delivered a return of 12.82% compared to 16.15% by the benchmark. The fund gained 16.49% in the last five years compared to 16.55% by the benchmark.
In the last 15 years, the fund gained 19.03% compared to the 15.75% by the benchmark. Since its inception, the fund has delivered a return of 15.02%.
