Equity mutual fund inflow doubles to Rs 14,000 crore in September

Among equity categories, sectoral funds, mid cap funds and flexi cap funds saw inflows more than Rs 2,000 crore. Dividend yield funds and ELSS funds saw the least amount of inflows in September. Five new active equity schemes were launched in September which mobilized Rs 5,836 crore. Here’s a look at the data:
Amid debt mutual funds, overnight funds are the only big gainers with an inflow of Rs 33,128.33 crore. Long duration funds also saw inflows of Rs 110 crore. Gilt funds and Gilt funds with 10 year duration saw small inflows in September. Other than these categories all the other debt fund categories saw huge outflows in the month of September. 4 closed ended debt funds were launched in September which saw inflows worth Rs 1,117 crore.
Among hybrid schemes, arbitrage funds and equity saving funds continued to see big outflows in September too. AMFI Chief Executive, NS Venkatash, said that the arbitrage funds are losing AUM because of the shrinking spread between cash and futures. Other hybrid fund categories saw net inflows in September. Dynamic Asset Allocation funds saw the maximum inflows of Rs 524.70 crore.
