MUMBAI: Crisil's FundServices Group today said it has developed comprehensive criteria for fund manager selection, focusing on both qualitative and quantitative parameters.

Crisil FundServices provides fund evaluation services and risk solutions to the mutual fund industry.

The comprehensive criteria will lead to a robust overall methodology for the selection of pension fund managers, a company release issued here today said.

Crisil Ratings' Senior Director, Raman Uberoi, said "the advent of professional fund managers will change the way pension funds are run, and will gradually transform the sector. This is a milestone for the fund industry, and a heartening development for the Indian debt market."

However, given the sensitive nature of the subject, it was vital to ensure that fund managers are selected carefully.
