Axis Pension Fund doubles AUM to Rs 20,000 crore in 15 months.
Axis Pension Fund has crossed Rs 20,000 crore in assets under management, doubling its asset base in 15 months as demand for National Pension System products continues to grow.

The pension fund management arm of Axis Asset Management Company and a step-down subsidiary of Axis Bank added its latest Rs 10,000 crore in AUM between June 2025 and August 2026.

The growth was driven by wider distribution, higher NPS adoption and rising customer trust, the company said on Monday.

Axis Pension Fund added it has expanded across retail, affluent, corporate, government and institutional customer segments.

Axis Pension Fund is among the faster-growing players in India’s non-government pension segment. Launched in October 2022, it is registered as a pension fund with the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority.

The latest milestone comes at a time when India’s pension industry is seeing stronger interest from investors, helped by rising awareness about retirement planning and easier access to pension products.

Axis Pension Fund said its growth has been supported by Axis Bank’s distribution network. The company has also been expanding its engagement across customer segments and product categories.

Sumit Shukla, Managing Director and CEO of Axis Pension Fund, said crossing Rs 20,000 crore in AUM was an important milestone and reflected the trust placed by subscribers and partners.

“The increase in AUM demonstrates the momentum we are seeing in the business and the growing acceptance of NPS as a retirement solution,” Shukla said.

He said the company will focus on making pension products simpler and more accessible while maintaining compliance, prudent investment management and customer security.

Axis Pension Fund has also launched a Tatkal onboarding journey, which allows customers to open an NPS account in about 15-20 seconds. The company said the feature reduces turnaround time and makes onboarding faster.

The fund house is also using products and initiatives such as Multiple Scheme Framework, NPS Swasthya and NPS Vatsalya to expand pension coverage and serve changing customer needs.

“As we look ahead, we see significant headroom for growth. Our priority is to combine technology-led customer experiences with strong governance and investment discipline,” Shukla said.
