I am 30 years old. I have high risk appetite and a long investment horizon. I want to make Rs 2 crore in 15 years. I plan to retire by the age of 45. I am investing Rs 35,000 per month in direct mutual fund schemes.

My portfolio contains the following mutual fund schemes:

Largecap: Kotak Select Focus Fund - Direct (G): Rs 10,500
Diversified equity: SBI Magnum Multicap Fund - Direct (G): Rs 3,000
Small & Midcap: Mirae Asset Emerging Bluechip Fund - Direct (G): Rs 9,000
Balanced: HDFC Balanced Advantage Fund - Direct (G) : Rs 3,000
Diversified equity: L&T India Value Fund - Direct (G): Rs 4,500
Please suggest if I have a right mix. I started the first SIP from May 2018.

If you have an aggressive risk profile, you should invest more in midcap and smallcap schemes. If you want to diversify your portfolio and reduce risk, you may also invest a small part of your portfolio in multicap or largecap mutual fund schemes.

You are investing most of your money in equity-oriented hybrid (now called aggressive hybrid), multicap schemes. Note, Kotak Select Focus Fund is now called Kotak Standard Multicap Fund. It is a multicap scheme now. This sure helps you to bring down the risk, but it may also reduce the overall returns from your mutual fund portfolio.

Assuming an annual return of 12 per cent, you may be able to create a corpus of a little over Rs 1.51 crore in 15 years.
