I want to do a monthly SIP of Rs 25,000. My goal is to get Rs 2 to 2.5 crores in next 12-15 years. Below are the funds that I have selected:
Kotak Select Focus Fund: Rs 10,000
Mirae Assrt Emerging Blue Chip Fund: Rs 5,000
Aditya Birla Sun Life Mid and Small Cap Fund: Rs 5,000
HDFC Balanced Fund: Rs 5,000
Please let me know if my fund selection and allocation is good? My age is 35 years.

Fundamentally, for someone to set a goal for Rs 2 to 2.5 crore in next 12 to 15 years, the amount of Rs 25,000 per month may not be sufficient. Assuming a tenure of 15 years, you may achieve around Rs 2.3 crore, only if your returns generate 18 per cent per annum. One should not look at past performance alone. At some stage during the next couple of years, if you are able to add your SIP commitments, you can achieve your goals better. Since you have a longer time horizon, you may substitute an equity scheme with the proposed balanced fund.
