I am a 47-year-old government employee. I want to invest Rs 6,000 per month for 10 years in mutual funds. Please advise me in which scheme should I invest for good returns?

Deepali Sen, Founder, Srujan Financial Advisors, responds:

I am assuming this money is meant for long-term investment (seven years or more). Why this clarification is important is because investors do SIPs for 10 years but keep pulling out the invested sums during times of need. If you are investing for a long term, you could look at investing in equity funds like Aditya Birla Sun Life Frontline Equity Fund (largecap fund), ICICI Prudential Focused Bluechip Equity Fund (largecap fund) and Franklin India Prima Plus Fund (multicap fund) in equal proportions.
