Since you have a short investment horizon, you should invest in debt mutual fund schemes. When you are investing for a short period, safety should be a prime concern. Debt mutual funds are relatively riskier than bank deposits, but they have the potential to offer market-linked returns that might be marginally higher than bank deposits.
