I am 30 years old and investing in mutual fund since 2017. I have an investment horizon of 15-20 years. I have lumsump investment of Rs 1,00,000 in following two funds:
1) Aditya Birla Sun Life Saving Fund-G: 50,000
2) Kotak Standard Multicap Fund - G, 50,000
Also I am doing a monthly SIP in the following funds:
Franklin India Prima Fund: Rs 1,000
Mirae Asset India Equity Fund - G: Rs 2,000
Motiwal Oswal Multicap 35 Fund G: Rs 2,500
ICIC Pru Banking & Fin Service Fund G: Rs 1,500
DSP Natural Resources & New Energy Fund - G: Rs 1,500
I am not satisfied with the returns, may be in long term it could generate better result. Could you please review and suggest portfolio to invest Rs 10,00,000 lumsump amount more?

Shweta Jain, founder, Investography, responds:

Please plan your goals and the investments can be aligned towards those goals. It will be easier to focus and stay invested and also invest more to reach your goals. I would suggest to avoid thematic and sectoral funds like ICICI Banking and DSP Natural Resources Fund. The other schemes look good to continue and you can add more money in them. Do not add too many new schemes.

Returns from equity schemes are not up to mark because of the market correction. This is a part and parcel of equity investing.
